What would the ratio be between the hot 18 K’s banging in through the windows and the bounced 4Ks be inside the room. I’m thinking those 4K’s wont add that much vs the direct 18K’s. Will that be a more contrasty look or am I mising something?

@FlatArt HI FlatArt, 18k's flying directly into the room would be very contrasty and stark, I would say the ratio would be 4 to 5 stops, if you drift over to How to Light Horror. I use only hard fresnel lights banging through windows and it is very contrasty. Take a look: https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/courses/how-to-light-horror/ Think about what it is in the real world. If the sun is low enough to blast through the windows, there would also be sky ambient light, that would be super soft and slightly cooler in tone. Ton's of this in the Into the Badlands SET lighting, here is the Course: https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/courses/go-on-set-w-shane-into-the-badlands/ This is a specific Lesson link: https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/courses/go-on-set-w-shane-into-the-badlands/lessons/day-interior/topic/how-to-replicate-early-morning-interior-light-into-the-badlands/

@FlatArt Hi FlatArt, The unions in America have set these guidelines up if you are using the AMerican System. The European system has the Sparks do both color and diffusion because the Sparks in Europe do what the Grip & Electrics do but in one department and the Grips in Europe are all camera assist, nothing to do with lighting at all.
