HURLBUT ACADEMY FORUM GUIDELINES

Thank you for being a part of the Hurlbut Academy Community!  This HA Forum is one of the many benefits of your membership.  No one likes rules, and we don’t like enforcing them, but to ensure a vibrant, robust, and welcoming community, you are expected to follow a few simple rules in order to participate in this Forum:

Be courteous, civil and respectful of others at all times. Due to the sometimes offensive nature of political, world news, religious and other related topics, we have deemed them inappropriate here. These topics often result in unresolvable, heated discussions. Please do not use profanity or create racial, ethnic, gender based or discriminatory insults or hurtful remarks. Do not make personal attacks on other users or staff members either in public forums or private messages.  Although the administrators and moderators of the Hurlbut Academy will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Hurlbut Visuals, nor hurlbutacademy.com, will be held responsible for the content of any message.

Please do not create useless posts. Posts with one or two words (e.g. LOL or I agree. or Ditto) are wasteful and are routinely removed by the administrator. Please do not quote a large portion of a previous message in your post. A threaded discussion is most often read from the start, so the reader will usually understand that you are referring to a previous message without needing to re-read it in your post.

Do not cross-post. Posting the same or similar message in more than one place in the forum is not advisable. If done by accident, please contact a Forum Leader or Administrator with a link to the post and we’ll remove it.

Avoid sarcasm. It is nearly impossible to recognize sarcasm in print, and often it is interpreted as rudeness.

No “Unboxing” Posts. We’re glad you enjoyed unwrapping your new camera/toy/tool. Please don’t share that special moment on this forum.

Do not post copyrighted material that you do not own in the forum. This includes text and images from other forums and websites.  All text, photos, graphics, artwork and other material on the Hurlbut Academy are copyrighted and may not be reproduced, adapted, publicly distributed, publicly performed, publicly displayed, published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed without permission.

There is no confidentiality implied to any messages, posts, threads or images submitted to the HA Forum. All postings, messages, text, files, images, graphics, photos, audio clips, sounds, video or other materials (the “Content”) posted on, transmitted through, or linked from hurlbutacademy.com, are the sole responsibility of the person from whom such Content originated. You are entirely responsible for all Content that you post, email or otherwise make available through the HA Forum. By uploading or otherwise posting any Content on hurlbutacademy.com, you represent and warrant: (i) you own or otherwise have all necessary rights, including but not limited to copyrights, to the content you provide and the rights to use it as provided in these Forum Rules; (ii) all information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete, and does not violate these Forum Rules; and, (iii) the content will not cause injury to any person or entity.

Think twice before posting. Your contributions have a long lifetime. The administrator will not delete that embarrassing post you now regret you made. It would not be fair to the others who contributed to that conversation.

Private Stays Private. Don’t forward or post private message replies without the express permission of the original author. This includes private replies to public posts and other private or personal communication including off-forum e-mail communication

Please remember to post in the correct forum and search first to make sure it hasn’t already been posted. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it may be moved by a moderator. If a topic or post is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, or if the post is a violation of our guidelines, please contact a forum Leader or Administrator either using a Personal Message or the Report Post to Moderator feature. Please do not respond publicly to the member.

Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.

We reserve the right to edit or remove any content on these forums that we deem inappropriate with or without forewarning. We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases. Violation of any of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violate any laws.

Thank you for following these Forum Guidelines!
