In 2010, Andrew graduated from the University of North Carolina and concluded principal photography on a documentary for Maya Angelou’s Healthy Equity Center in Winston Salem. Thereafter, Andrew continued to have one foot in film and the other in documentary & corporate production. He spent 2 years working on features in LA before moving back to NC to take a full time position at a boutique production company. For several years he traveled overseas filming branded content for tech companies such as IBM, Lenovo, and Hitachi. In 2018, Andrew stepped down as videographer/producer to pursue his passion in film and cinematography. Since then, Andrew has served as a DP, gaffer, grip and on various projects including independent features, corporate communications and documentary productions. Based in Hillsborough NC, Andrew is looking to further expand his DoP portfolio and collaborate with local artists. Following Brené Brown's work and research on vulnerability has furthered his belief in the power of story to create not only interpersonal change for individuals but systematic change in government, religion, media and the private sector. As story creates a space for empathy, empathy in-turn drives connection, which leads to understanding - the greatest change agent we can acquire. Compelling stories require collaboration. Andrew is looking forward to bringing his skillset of visual storytelling to like-minded creatives.
